Garden State Plaza
Westfield Garden State Plaza, located in Bergen County, NJ, serves more than 1.6 million people with a $106,000-plus household income in what is considered to be one of the most affluent parts of the country. In 2014, a 60,000 square foot expansion near the Neiman Marcus wing opened, offering its more than 20 million customers more than 20 new stores, a state-of-the-art design, and many amenities. Thor High Street Advisors was hired as a consultant to help lease this expansion, and in conjunction with its firm, Soozan Baxter Consulting was retained to focus on contemporary and luxury leasing efforts. Soozan Baxter procured deals with Sandro and Maje, respectively two of their first deals in the United States, which were new to the Westfield portfolio. She also assisted on the Tory Burch deal. Such endeavors will build on Garden State Plaza’s 2.1 million square feet that is home to stellar brands like Louis Vuitton and Gucci; five department stores; one of the best-performing cinemas in the United States; and many fine restaurants.
